To compare the rainfall data, India Meteorological Department (IMD) calculated the Long Period Average (LPA) of rainfall during period June-August for each of the $16$ states. The figure given below shows the actual rainfall (measured in mm) during JuneAugust, $2019$ and the percentage deviations from LPA of respective states in 2018. Each state along with its actual rainfall is presented in the figure.

Understanding the set :-

This graph shows how much rainfall 16 Indian states received between June and August 2019, and whether that amount was more or less than usual.

Since, it's a DI question ,the most important part of the set will be to get a clear understanding of the graph.

So, Let's see what the chart shows -

a) The horizontal axis (bottom line) tells us how much rain (in millimeters) each state received during those three months.

b) The vertical axis (side line) shows how much more or less rain they got compared to their average rainfall, called the Long Period Average (LPA).

If a state is:

a) Above the 0% line: it got more rain than usual.

b) Below the 0% line: it got less rain than usual.

Each dot is a state, and next to it, the actual rainfall amount (in mm) is written.

Now , let's go to the questions and solve them.

There are seven states

( Mizoram, Sikkim, Maharashtra,Goa, Arunachal, Kerala and Meghalaya) which are under Heavy Monsoon State' as per given criterion

out of which three (Arunachal, Kerala and Meghalaya) have a negative deviation from respective LPA.
